Welcome to the homepage of the Department of Robotics at Hanyang University.
There is a well-known quotation that states, "Following the advent of artificial intelligence, robotics will be the next advancement." Artificial intelligence facilitates recognition and decision-making, while robots play a crucial role in interacting with the physical world and translating these abilities into tangible actions and expressions. Hence, the forthcoming world will be characterized by the coexistence of robots fueled by artificial intelligence and humans.
The Department of Robotics was founded at the Erica campus in 2013 with the purpose of developing skilled individuals in this swiftly evolving field. Our objective is to develop highly skilled professionals in the field of robotics through structured, hands-on education and engagement in international research endeavors.
Similar to any new beginning, it started modestly and on a small scale.
Due to consistent innovation and growth, the Department of Robotics at Hanyang Erica has established itself as one of the university's premier programs, distinguished as a "Rainbow Department" (awarded to the top-performing departments, providing a 50% tuition reduction for the initial year).
We currently have a team of 10 professors who are highly qualified faculty members and experts in robotics, thereby elevating our top-level robotics department in Korea. In addition to our external expansion, we are continuously enhancing our research capabilities with the goal of achieving recognition as a top-tier robotics department on a global scale.
